About Me

Hi, I’m Jacob — a Computer Science student with a strong interest in cybersecurity, software development, and building practical technical projects from scratch.

Welcome to Jacob’s Tech Den — a space where I document my projects, share what I’m learning, and explore the technology behind modern systems. My goal is simple: to build useful tools, improve my skills, and help others learn along the way.

My Background

I am currently studying Computer Science at university, where I focus on programming, systems design, networking, and security principles. My long-term goal is to build a career in the cybersecurity field — protecting systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and designing secure software architectures.

Cybersecurity interests me because it combines problem solving, analytical thinking, and real-world impact. As technology becomes more integrated into everyday life, security becomes increasingly critical.

Projects I’ve Built

Over the years, I’ve created several personal projects to strengthen my development skills and experiment with new ideas.

SecuroChat

SecuroChat is one of my most developed projects — a secure messaging platform designed with privacy and encryption principles in mind. The aim of this project was to explore:

  • Secure authentication
  • Data encryption techniques
  • Server-side validation
  • Secure message handling
  • Database security practices

This project helped me better understand secure system design and the challenges involved in protecting user data.

Media File Hosting Platform

I also began developing a media file hosting platform to explore:

  • User account management
  • File storage systems
  • Access control
  • Server performance considerations
  • Backend infrastructure design

While not all of my projects reach full completion, each one teaches me something new and improves my technical abilities.
